Congratulations Mr. Tom Jacobs on your Retirement from the Flowing Wells Governing Board

Congratulations to Mr. Tom Jacobs, who has retired from the Flowing Wells Governing Board after 20 years of service. He and his wife Paula sought out the Flowing Wells community when they moved back to Tucson, with the goal of raising their boys in one district for their entire educational journey. Who could have predicted that each son would graduate from Flowing Wells High School as valedictorian of his respective class, Chad in 2004 and Trenton in 2006? Mr. Jacobs's career as an architect and later as a construction trades teacher shaped his belief in the power of practical, hands-on learning experiences. Throughout his service on the board, Mr. Jacobs consistently advocated for classes and curriculum grounded in real-life applications. He also brought his architect's analytical skills to construction projects, scrutinizing designs and proposals with a careful eye to ensure the District's best interests were at the forefront.

The office of Pima County School Superintendent Dustin Williams has posted the interim governing board position, and applications will be accepted through May 13 at 5:00 PM. Superintendent Williams and his staff will conduct interviews and will select the interim board member later this spring. More information regarding this process and how to apply is available on the website of the Pima County School Superintendent's Office.

In retirement, Mr. Jacobs looks forward to more opportunities to travel with his wife, to visit his children and grandchildren, and to complete the many projects on his to-do list. We will miss his leadership on the board, but we know he will remain connected to the Flowing Wells community. Congratulations on your retirement, Mr. Jacobs!
